This AeraMax 290 review will assess the purifier to see if it can help to improve the quality of your air, spare your lungs and boost your health.
Air is obviously highly important. It is everywhere we go, and without it we would die; but unfortunately most of us take it for granted and don’t pay much attention to keeping it as fresh and as clean as we can. This is particularly important for office and work environments, where the quality of air can greatly affect our productivity, and where the concentration of workers in a close working environment makes a fertile breeding ground for bacteria. But it’s also very important at home – where poor air quality can damage sleep, ruin our energy levels, and even shorten our lifespans!
Fortunately, there are many ways to improve your air quality which will by extension improve your health and your productivity – using air purifiers, fresheners, humidifiers, and AC installations among others. The purifier is the best option of all though, so how does the AeraMax 290 stack up?
Design and Appearance
This is a very simple ‘black box’ style of air purifier. It’s a flat, minimal unit that doesn’t jump out as being particularly attractive, but which can certainly fit into most rooms. It also looks quite sleek and modern, especially thanks to the glowing blue buttons.
That said, it is also rather large and imposing and if you have a very delicate or restrained décor, it might stand out like a sore thumb.
The performance of the AeraMax 290 is what really matters. This unit uses a HEPA filter in order to remove 99.97% of unwanted airborn particles. This makes it particularly effective against smoke, but does mean you need to replace the filter yourself occasionally. It’s also certified as asthma and allergy friendly.
It’s not just your regular HEPA though. Like most purifiers, it has a four stage purification process that also uses a carbon filter and several other materials.
The unit isn’t too loud, but it is powerful – being designed for larger rooms up to 600SqFt.
What makes the AeraMax by Fellowes special, is the AeraSmart functionality. This is a sensor that will automatically detect the air quality and then adjust the fan speed to help keep it clean. In other words, it will ramp up only when it is needed – which extends the life of the filter and saves energy.
A separate odor eliminator helps to specifically target bad smells and keep your home smelling the very best it can.
