This Alen BreatheSmart Customizable Air Purifier review will take an in-depth look at this purifier to see if it can effectively improve the quality of your air and boost your health as a result. Or are you better off with one of the many other air purifiers on the market?
The Alen BreatheSmart Customizable Air Purifier uses a fairly utilitarian and minimal design. From the front, it looks like a completely white, slightly curved surface. Controls are hidden around the sides and the larger filtration element sticks out the back.
That’s a fine design choice and is very similar to many of the other air purifiers on the market. But what’s interesting about the Alen BreatheSmart Customizable Air Purifier, is that it also comes in a variety of other colors. You can get this purifier in a total of sixteen different colors, including browns, beiges, blues, pinks and more.
Why’s that a big deal? Because these things are large and they can look very out of place in your rooms. This one will match the color of the décor and that’s ideal. Better yet, you can swap the panel if you like, so you can change the look if you ever redecorate (or just fancy a change).
The performance of the Alen BreatheSmart Customizable Air Purifier is very good. Like the others we have reviewed, the Alen uses a HEPA system, meaning that it is physically filtering the air in order to remove the unwanted contaminants and toxins.
What’s unique about this one though, is that it also uses an ‘Odorcell filter’ which makes it especially effectively when it comes to removing odors. That’s great if you live in a built-up urban area, it’s great if you smoke, and it’s great if you have pets (no one wants their home to have that ‘dog smell’!).
The unit is actually comprised of four different HEPA filters, which each work in different ways to help you remove the maximum total of contaminants.
What’s more, is that this unit is capable of filtering air in rooms up to 1,100SqFt! That means you can use it in the very biggest rooms at home, or even in an office or other business setting. It can do this thanks to its superior airflow, which will benefit you no matter the size of your rooms.
The Alen BreatheSmart Customizable Air Purifier does not come with an app or smart sensor, but it does offer a readout showing you the quality of your air – which is a very welcome feature and lets you see that it’s really doing its job well (and it really does).
On top of that, it can also produce a ‘red noise’ which helps to mask any unwanted ambient sounds. The device itself is quiet, so this is an additional feature to help you get a better night’s sleep – very welcome indeed!
